Recipe for Faux French French Fries | Instructions

Step 1.Fill a skillet with 2 inches of vegetable oil. Heat to 365 degrees F.

Step 2. Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1 to 2 tablespoons cinnamon on a plate.

Step 3. Cut stale white bread into sticks and fry until golden, about 1 minute. Regular bread will work, but leave it out in the room air for a couple of hours to dry out a bit.

You can also use a can of breadsticks for this recipe if you prefer. Just purchase a can of breadstick dough (in the refrigerated section) and cut dough into strips.

Step 4. Fry the bread strips in the oil until golden brown, about 5 minutes.

Step 4. Using a slotted spoon, remove the faux french fries from the skillet. Drain the “french fries” on paper towels, then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while they are still hot.

Step 5. Serve your faux french fries with strawberry jelly. Looks like ketchup!

What a fun food idea for teen parties! We have fun making these together, but also surprising friends with them.
