DIY Fun & Easy Crayon Art for Your Walls!

DIY & How To

By  |

This AWESOME craft project will definitely create a fabulous conversation piece for your bedroom. I was so  surprised when I saw what it was made of and how easy this project is to do. Believe it or not, this cool rainbow wall art is made by melting crayons with a hair dryer. It’s a unique and fun craft, and you can choose to do a bright colored theme like this or use some toned down and/or darker colors for a different look to match your decor!

Here’s how easy it is to make: Start by picking out all of your favorite colors for this inexpensive piece of art.  Get your glue gun fired up and glue the crayons on like the video instructs you to do.  Turn on your hair dryer and watch your board transform into something magical!  Note: Some people remove the crayon wrappers, but I prefer to leave them on, the way the creator of this video has.

In this video, they make the piece of art even more interesting by adding the word LOVE.  All you have to do is create a stencil using duct tape, then remove it after all the crayons are melted.  If you want to change it up, you can use any word you want to.  This is your own expression so pick what you want it to say. I can’t think of a more fun and rewarding project when you are trying to decorate on a budget but also make something really cool!

Keep in mind that you can use a canvas, different colored poster boards, wood and other things that you might have laying around the house.  I’m the world’s greatest improviser so I use whatever I have available.  When I did this, one of the things I used was an old piece of glass that was used as a table top and it turned out really awesome!  When I put it on a shelf I have on the wall, it gave the effect that the crayons were dripping down the wall!  Just use your imagination and don’t be afraid to change this clever project up a bit!  Yours just might look better than this one!
